SDW Social Justice Statement
The School District of Waukesha is dedicated to eliminating racial disparities and promoting an ongoing process of healing and reconciliation to dismantle racism. As a district, we firmly believe in Responsive Teaching and Learning which furthers our dedication to facing this racial justice reckoning head-on. The commitment is rooted in the belief that all members of our community are valued and needed to further the human rights and equity vision of our district. We recognize that our community is made up of diverse individuals with varying experiences and make ongoing conversations about race very complex. We are devoted to this human rights mission and will work to continually foster an environment that is free of discrimination in our school community.

October 26th Weekly Schedule - The week of October 26th is a short week for students ending with a half-day of classes on Wednesday, October 28th, and no school on October 29th or 30th. Our goal during these shortened weeks is to provide equal time for students in each of their classes. Please see the schedule below that we will be following during this week. Busses will arrive to take students home at 1:10 P.M. on early release days.
Student of the Month- One of the best things about having our students back in the building four days a week is that we can celebrate Students of the Month!! It feels great to be able to do it again. Please see the video's below to get a feel for how we get to cheer on and recognize the work of these students.
JIT (Just-In-Time) Morning Support - Our school day begins at 7:20 A.M. and West teachers are here and ready to support students at this time until class starts at 7:50 A.M. JIT is in place to help catch students up or prepare students for what is coming and can involve doing small group work, lab time, discussion time or make-ups. The expectation is work completion and student attendance is required if the teacher requests the students. How it works is that during morning check-in time, students who teachers need to see are notified where they need to report. Teachers are communicating with these students and when students are requested to come to JIT time, they are to show up at 7:20 A.M. and should deviate from their assigned arrival window. This is a great academic support process!!
West HS Recognition - West High School was recognized statewide by Niche as the 22nd ranked public high school in the state out of 500 plus! The JSOnline article is linked below where you can see the criteria for the ranking and access the Niche site to browse further. This is a community recognition!!!
Project Graduation - WE NEED YOU!!! - Every year our parent community puts on an amazing event for West graduating Seniors known as "Project Graduation." You cannot truly understand all of the work and effort that goes into making this go off without a hitch and more importantly a culminating event to celebrate our Seniors after a four-year journey through our halls. Please see the message below from our Project Graduation committee and please consider getting involved with this!!
WE NEED YOU to help the Class of 2021 have a graduation celebration!!!
Project Graduation is looking for parents from ALL grade levels to help plan and host West's annual Senior Celebration. Junior and Sophomore parents, come see what this is about so you can help plan your student's Senior Celebration. Not only can you help provide West's current senior class with a memorable send-off, but you'll also help ensure this event continues for underclassmen and future Wolverines.
With everything "subject to change” these days, we're staying flexible and brainstorming appropriate activities that fit within today's environment and are safe for all.
Come share your creativity at our upcoming Project Graduation meetings on 10/20 and 11/17 at 7:00pm in the West Media Center.
To learn more about this event, please visit the Project Graduation page under the Parent / Student section on the Waukesha West High School website, or contact projectgradwaukeshawest@gmail.com.

Homecoming week is here!!! - We are very thankful to be able to have some fun and create a little school spirit with homecoming festivities during this week. Below is a preview of the week followed by information that was sent to students today from Mr. LeMieux regarding the process that needs to be followed for all grade level students to attend soccer games and for our Seniors to be able to attend the football game this week!!!!
Hello West Students,
The Classic 8 Conference has continued to review spectator policies through the fall sports season, and this week we have an exciting development. Effective for this week, West SENIORS are able to attend football games, and ALL grade levels may attend soccer events in our stadium!
For soccer games, you will simply need to show your student ID at the gate. The first opportunity is TONIGHT when Boys Soccer takes on Muskego, 6:30pm.
For football games, a sign-up will be necessary to be sure that we do not exceed our student limit of 100 students. If you are a SENIOR interested in attending the Homecoming Football Game on Friday, October 9th, please watch for a form to be sent to you WEDNESDAY, 11:00am. Students will be admitted in the order requests are received.
When attending West athletic events, it is important to keep a few expectations in mind:
Masks must be worn at all times, without exception
Check-in at the main gate with your student ID so that accurate attendance is taken
Upon entry, please report directly to your seats at the far end of the stadium
Beyond going to the restroom or concession stand, students must stay in the bleachers
No re-entry will be allowed
While in the stands, students must stay on their "yellow dot". Failure to social distance or properly wear masks will result in removal from the event.
To see much more "game day" information such as streaming links, rosters, and sport by sport rules, please visit www.westwolverines.com/gameday.
I am excited to see many of you in the stands going forward. Please do your part to ensure that this privilege can stay in place and even grow to include more West students in the future.
Go WEST!
Mr. LeMieux
