Principal Blog Week of March 20th, 2023

Have a great Spring Break!! - Wow, we are three-quarters of the way done with the school year. I wish everyone in the West community a restful Spring Break that has been well-earned by all! I look forward to all students coming back refreshed and ready to finish the school year strong! Go Wolverines... WHOOP!!!

Schedule for the Week of April 3rd, 2023 - There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 7th which modifies the weekly schedule for the week of April 3rd, when we come back from Spring Break. The 4-day week will have us skip our Monday schedule and run a Tuesday through Friday weekly schedule beginning on April 3rd. This is reflected in the color-coded calendar below which is also available on the West website.

Way to go!!

Senior Vs. Staff Basketball Game - The game is this Friday, March 24th. In my previous blog post, I shared some training pictures of me dunking as I predicted that my hard work would pay off and we will once again beat the Seniors. Just to show that hard work does pay off I am 78% sure this is me after our last staff championship game holding the trophy and donning my Waukesha Celtics warm-up top and my Waukesha East-side all-star shorts of which I plan to take a similar picture in this outfit this year after our victory! Let's go staff!!! My hair is simply amazing.

Athletic Leadership Conference
 -
Leadership is not always a natural fit for individuals. Like anything else, leadership skills can be enhanced in individuals and purposeful conversations can bring groups together for achieving more. Please read the details of our recent Athletic Leadership Conference. I would like to thank Athletic Director Kyle LeMieux, the staff, coaches, and the student leaders for working hard to put this amazing event together! It has a profound impact on our school culture and I am excited to see the results within our teams!  West's 11th annual Leadership Conference (LC23) saw nearly 300 student-athletes participate in the conference, which was organized and led by Kyle LeMieux and a small team of student leaders. It was a fantastic day filled with group activities, team-focused discussions, individual reflections, inspirational speakers, and strategies on how athletics can be an ideal platform for building effective leaders. Enjoy some pics from the event below:

Principal Blog Week of March 6th, 2023

Purpose Corner - For our "Welcome to West" night which was held this past December, we put together some numbers to celebrate several of the many great things that happen at West. Being that many members of the current West community did not attend, I wanted to share the page compilation that we provided to West families who will be joining us next year.

Gymnastics State - Congrats to Krista Pascavis who finished 16th in the floor exercise event this past weekend at the State gymnastics meet in Wisconsin Rapids!

State Team Wrestling - Congrats to our Wrestling team who lost their opening meet against eventual state champion Kaukauna this past Friday at the UW-Madison Fieldhouse. It was a great atmosphere and our wrestlers battled hard!!

West Cheer at State - Congrats to the West Cheer team who placed 8th in the State competition Gameday Small Division!! A special shout out to Jenna Fischer who earned All-State Non-Tumble Team!

Senior Vs. Staff Basketball Game - The game is on Friday,
March 24thWill the Seniors finally win this year? The
faculty keeps getting older but our Senior students are the
same age, yet year after year we seem to be unbeatable! I
have a strong feeling staff will conquer once again! Please see
a recent picture I found of me in training as I have been working
hard all year to be ready for this competition... I am 89% sure
that may be me participating in the local Waukesha city slam
dunk contest last week on a 7-foot hoop... though I seem to
have lost quite a bit of hair in a short amount of time. I did not
realize the Waukesha Expo Center could hold that many
people, I took 1st out of one player (me) for my age bracket...
bring it on Seniors!!

Wisconsin Education Fairs (WEF) - Will offer a FREE fair on Friday, March 17th, 2023, at Waukesha North High School. This is an opportunity for students to talk with admission representatives from colleges, universities, technical colleges, vocational and trade schools as well as military recruiters. class students to take advantage of this opportunity on Friday, March 17th from 9:15 am -10:15 am.
